Bug 150947 – Apache 2.0.58-r2 locks in a semaphore loop when autoindex_module is invoked on a large dir

Since upgrading my apache from 2.0.55-r1 to 2.0.58-r2 I have encountered an error with the autoindex_module.

The issue is that a large directory (containing about 2300 subdirectories) hangs whenever I browse to it with apache.

This was working prior to upgrading to the latest release.

Wanting to know more, I turned on debug level logging in apache.  The line where it hangs is this:

I can't really understand why this is.  I have tried munging around all the different directives, checking file permissions, etc.  to no avail.
