Description Decade 2006-10-07 20:27:38 UTC
I have a laptop with a PCMCIA DVD-ROM drive. I try to boot "gentoo dopcmcia". I get a message that it can't find any CD among the block devices, and I get a primitive ash environment. dmesg (or /proc/kmsg) usually shows the PCMCIA module loads, but nothing is configured. There is no cardmgr.

So far, I've tried 2006.1, 2004.1, 1.4, and 1.2, InstallCD when possible because my CD-RW disk is only 650MB.

I'll look into this.

Can you try the 2007.0 CD, since I *think* I fixed it.

Can someone try this on a 2008.0 Beta 1 CD and see if it is still an issue?
Comment 4 Frazer Barnsley 2008-05-13 23:26:48 UTC
Im still getting the problem with the 2008.0 Beta 2 CD.

Can anyone please test with a weekly install CD and check if this still fails?
