Which library was it that you deleted? If it was any of /usr/lib/libcrypt.so /lib/libcrypt-2.4.so or /lib/libcrypt.so.1, then it belongs to sys-apps/glibc rather than openssl. In that case you need to remerge glibc... Ahm, yes, you could be right! Damn, I put an alias on rm... I will test this tomorrow and if you are right, I will close this bug. Marc as noted, libcrypt is from glibc ... libcrypto is from openssl After reemerging glibc everything works again. Luckiliy I had to rebuild it anyway, because of a new USE flag. Thanks for the help.
