matplotlib-0.87.6 is out and works well.  A couple of fixes to the previous version's (0.87.4) ebuild are necessary.

Specifically matplotlib now requires numpy>1.0b if you are using numpy.

Also... The win32 detection code patch doesn't apply anymore...

Updated ebuild for new version

Here is an ebuild for the new version.  I've tested it in conjunction with numpy-1.0_rc1 and all seems to be well.

What needs to happen to get this to stabalize and go into portage?

I don't understand why this got marked a duplicate?

That other bug was about a different version... and still doesn't have an updated ebuild attached for the newest version.  If anything, I say cloe 147466 in favor of this bug....
