Description Benno Schulenberg 2006-10-01 12:45:05 UTC
The ebuild for abiword-2.4.5 does not install the help files, making it so that nothing in the Help menu works, apart from "About". Choosing Help or pressing F1 should at least pop up a message saying that the files are not installed, like the Gimp does, but better would be if F1 simply worked.

Looking in the sourceball it appears that installing the help files is not exactly trivial. I've attemted to adapt the ebuild as shown in the attached patch, but 'dodoc */*' doesn't work as hoped. Isn't there a recursive 'dodoc'?

Looking upstream, this awkward help situation seems to be a case of http://bugzilla.abiword.com/show_bug.cgi?id=5413

+ 26 Jan 2011; Pacho Ramos <pacho@gentoo.org> +abiword-docs-2.8.6.ebuild,
+ +metadata.xml:
+ Add abiword-docs package that was splitted from abiword sometime ago by
+ upstream. This also fixes that old bug #149765 (by Benno Schulenberg).
+

Simply install abiword-docs (like occurs with gimp) and you will use locally installed files.
