Can emerge libquicktime-0.9.9 with distcc disabled. Cannot with distcc enabled, though if I set MAKEOPTS="-j3" the system doesn't freeze only emerge does. I have reconfigured the kernel for a server latency and preemption model, ie CONFIG_HZ_250=y CONFIG_PREEMPT_NONE=y from a low-latency desktop and CONFIG_HZ_1000=y. That seems to have fixed the problem with distcc. The sole exception is kdelibs-3.5.4-r2 and -mtune=7450. That still causes a hard lockup. |
