Unfortunatelly my printer run out of ink. This utility (mtink), as well as escputil from gimp-print package, does not work properly, when any of the cartridges is empty. At least this is so in the case of mine Epson C64. Since I'm going to buy a new printer, and this will certainly NOT be an Epson, I will not have a chance to make any tests.
