Bug 147946 – baselayout-1.12.5 is a bit too verbose

Since the last `emerge -uDN world` baselayout-1.12.5 is a bit too verbose.

At boot time it displays various additional messages like:

hdb: CHECK for good STATUS
hdc: CHECK for good STATUS

PCI: Found IRQ 11 for device 0000:00:0b.0
PCI: Sharing IRQ 11 with 0000:00:02.1

And after booting during the normal work every kernel message is printed on console /dev/tty1 even if I configured syslog-ng to not print the logs to a terminal but only to the log files.

I reopen this bug because I can't reopen bug #147611.

For me this bug is not fixed. I just installed baselayout-1.12.5 again but I'm still getting the same behaviour. The kernel logs are still printed on the first console.

And /etc/conf.d/rc still sets RC_DMESG_LOGLEVEL instead of RC_DMESG_LEVEL.
