Description Dominik Kozaczko 2006-09-15 23:39:39 UTC
I'd suggest that /etc/rc.conf should not be messed with that much. After upgrading baselayout, etc-update wanted to revert my EDITOR, DISPLAYMANAGER and XSESSION settings. I don't want this to happen.

for now, no

Could you please explain why? I "LOVE" such nice and intelligent "just because" reasoning.

I know I should look carefully when doing etc-update, but such things are set once for all and should not need any update or user interaction. What's the use of reverting hostname to "localhost" and editor to "nano" after every baselayout upgrade? It's annoying and nothing more - another config to be handled manually.
