After installing 1.4rc2 for i686, from stage3, using GRP for kde, gnome, 
mozilla, xfree, openoffice:

gnome-session is missing from the fs
gnome-session is missing from the dir /etc/X11/Sessions
gdm is missing from the fs
Possibly other files are missing.
Setting (in /etc/rc.conf) XSESSION=Gnome or =gnome or =gnome-session does 
not start gnome.

X and KDE are working properly
kde-3.0.4 is in /etc/X11/Sessions
startkde is present in the fs

how about this question ... are the config files even in the package ?

Getting iggy to verify that this issue doesn't exist on 1.4 maintenance release 1. It shouldn't (we should have already addressed it) so closing bug.
