Oh, sorry. I just noticed that libXpm is installed, but axiom looks in the wrong place for it.

But what I'm wondering too: xpdf has an explicit dependency on x11-libs/libXpm. axiom - which obviously needs that too - hasn't.

libXaw (which is a dep in axiom's ebuild) has a dep on libXpm so the explicit dependency is not required. The Makefile not looking in the right place is a problem though, thanks for the patch; I'll look at it shortly.
