Description Rafał Mużyło 2006-09-12 04:27:44 UTC
Well, it seems to emerge fine, but the problem is that
although it builds all the .gmo files, it doesn't install them.
Comment 1 Fernando J. Pereda (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-09-12 05:30:28 UTC
And what's broken ? It seems to work fine for me with different locales.

Comment 2 Rafał Mużyło 2006-09-12 08:34:15 UTC
Well, 1.5.13-r1 ebuild (probably 1.5.13 too) don't install .gmo file in /usr/share/locale, so mutt is NOT localized (no translations)
Comment 3 Fernando J. Pereda (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-09-12 09:26:07 UTC
It is definitely localized. And it installs .mo files under /usr/share/locale/xx/LC_MESSAGES

This is not a bug unless something is really broken with your locale.

Comment 4 Rafał Mużyło 2006-09-13 01:14:00 UTC
Sorry, a missunderstanding.
It was not a bug in mutt. Till now I had LINGUAS unset,
and portage installed all linguas, now with LINGUAS unset
it installs none.
Comment 5 Rafał Mużyło 2006-09-13 01:53:20 UTC
One more correction:
for some reason both emerge and ebuild (portage-2.1.1)
set LINGUAS="" when it's unset, that is what causes this bug.
Comment 6 Fernando J. Pereda (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-09-13 01:56:22 UTC
Thats weird... it should install all locales in such case (IMHO of course).

Please feel free to bug the portage folks :)
