Description Alexandre Hamelin 2006-09-10 11:54:39 UTC
A few days ago I updated my gentoo with 'emerge world' and ppp got updated to version 2.4.3-r16. I hadn't updated for a couple of weeks before that.

Now I'm trying to get a friend to connect to my computer with VPN, but it seems that pptpd/ppp fails because of:

Just want to add that the VPN was working fine before that and also sorry for the bad line breaks -- maybe I should learn not to paste from a 80-char term piped in less(1). Anyway, just look up the "HERE HERE HERE" I added in the output.

You are supposed to rebuild external ppp plugins every time you upgrade pppd.
Currently, there is no way in portage to force a re-emerge packages at the moment of net-dialup/ppp upgrade, so you will have to run following command every time you switch to another version of net-dialup/ppp:
  emerge --oneshot pptpd

Closed as CANTFIX.
