Description Jan Oppolzer 2006-09-10 09:36:24 UTC
The headline is "Upgrade guide to MySQL 4.* or 5.0.*" while the summary is "This document describes how to upgrade from MySQL 4.* to 5.0.*".
Comment 1 Jan Oppolzer 2006-09-10 10:24:54 UTC
One more thing.. Second "Important" note in 4. Upgrading from recent versions of MySQL:

... If the data contain non-ASCII characters, you may want to preserve the default character set of the database replacing all occurrences of utf8 with latin1 into the /etc/mysql/my.cnf config file. ...

There should be "IN the /etc/mysql/my.cnf config file" instead of "INTO ..." if I'm right.
Comment 2 nm (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-09-10 14:12:43 UTC
Fixed in CVS. Clarified summary. Also discovered numerous issues introduced with someone else's previous commit, so took the time to fix those as well.

Thanks for reporting; lots of things got fixed. :)
