I tried to get the RealPlayer plugin running with Mozilla, but no matter what I
tried, I won't do _anything_. I cannot even see the plugin in the list that pops
up when choosing the appropriate menu item in the "Help" menu.

I have set-up the MIME-type for it and I have chosen the rpnp.so file as the
application to use to play it. No success. Is this a known problem or am I doing
something wrong?

+ your useflags 

+ your compiler flags

(you may need to emerge gentoolkit)
+ gcc & glibc version 
qpkg gcc -v -I
qpkg glibc -v -I

+ realplayer version
qpkg realplayer -v -I

+ what you tried to watch (url that I can check myself)

++ That is a mozilla 1.1 specific issue or that happens to you with the "stable" one (namely 1.2.1)?

please try the new ebuild of realplayer, seemant probably fixed that with the wrong .desktop placements issues.
