Does this happen when installing docbook-sgml-utils for the first time on a clean system? Please create a .tar.gz, .tar.bz2 or .zip file with the complete contents from /etc/sgml and attach it to this bug. Thanks. Created attachment 101911 [details]

Ok, but do you happen to know if docbook-xml-dtd-4.1.2/4.2/4.3 have been installed on your machine at some point? (In reply to comment #4) > Ok, but do you happen to know if docbook-xml-dtd-4.1.2/4.2/4.3 have been > installed on your machine at some point? they were installed and are still on my machine : # eix docbook-xml-dtd [I] app-text/docbook-xml-dtd Available versions: (4.1.2) 4.1.2-r6 (4.2) 4.2-r1 (~)4.2-r2 (4.3) 4.3 (~)4.3-r1 (4.4) 4.4-r1 Installed versions: 4.1.2-r6(4.1.2)(06:28:12 03/07/06) 4.2-r2(4.2)(06:22:35 03/07/06) 4.3-r1(4.3)(11:30:14 11/06/06) 4.4-r1(4.4)(17:14:37 08/09/06) That means that something deleted those /etc/sgml/xml-docbook-4.X.cat files. However, at this point there's not much else we can do; we need more specific information to determine if something in the tree is at fault. For now, just running the following should solve your problem: emerge ~docbook-xml-dtd-4.1.2 ~docbook-xml-dtd-4.2 ~docbook-xml-dtd-4.3 Please re-open if the problem persists after this, or you have more information regarding how the /etc/sgml/xml-docbook-4.X.cat files got removed from your system. > For now, just running the following should solve your problem: > emerge ~docbook-xml-dtd-4.1.2 ~docbook-xml-dtd-4.2 ~docbook-xml-dtd-4.3 You are right, thanks. > > Please re-open if the problem persists after this, or you have more information > regarding how the /etc/sgml/xml-docbook-4.X.cat files got removed from your > system. i got it, i followed this howto some time ago: http://gentoo-wiki.com/TIP_Clean_Up_Cruft i will add /etc/sgml in the False Positives rules in the wiki. sorry for the noise. After manually installing app-text/docbook-sgml-dtd-4.2-r2 app-text/docbook-sgml-dtd-4.4 the error was gone. Thus, this is very likely a dependency problem. sry .. wrong bug |
