Ebuild for gjiten-2.1

Description Andy Hunne 2003-01-27 18:58:52 UTC
Hiya,

Please find attached gjiten-2.0.ebuild.gz which contains gjiten-2.0.ebuild.

Gjiten is a Japanese/English dictionary for Gnome. The homepage is at
http://gjiten.sourceforge.net. The ebuild depends on kinput2 being installed,
so it may be a little difficult for a developer with a non-Japanese enable
environment to test. You also need to be able to view Japanese to use it
properly, but it should run fine even if you can't see Japenese characters - it
will just have weird characters where the Japanese is supposed to be.

After the ebuild is installed, you need to get some dictionary files in order to
use it. I have included einfo comments at the end of the ebuild to instruct the
user how and where to get them.

Andy.

I emerged this ebuild on my system.

Perhaps you should add the directory containing `libgnome-2.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'libgnome-2.0' found

configure: error: Library requirements (libgnome-2.0 libgnomeui-2.0) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.

Can you fix this?
Comment 3 Stuart Bouyer 2003-05-23 09:56:15 UTC
Here's an update for Gjiten2.1.

It fixes a bug in gconfd. I've also changed the deps to be for gnome2 libs rather than gnome libs.

Ebuild for gjiten-2.1

I also suggest that it is put in app-dicts.
Comment 5 Stuart Bouyer 2003-06-03 04:44:01 UTC
Is anything happening with this?

I just commited this ebuild as unstable.
Sorry for being late.

I have a proposal.
I think the ebuild should run a script making dictionaries at pkg_config().
What do you think?
And can anyone implement this?
Comment 7 Stuart Bouyer 2003-06-10 17:12:48 UTC
I'm actually working on some ebuilds for several dictionaries that work with gjiten, personally I'd prefer to emerge/install only the doctionaries I want rather than a long list that I might never use.

Comments??

I'll post back a link to the ebuilds for edict etc after I get them working.

2.1 is in CVS. Perhaps forgot to close?
