output from emerge wine
That's a _really_ old version of wine. Please make sure you don't have wine in /etc/portage/package.unmask. If you don't then I recommend you add the following line to /etc/portage/package.mask =app-emulation/wine-200* You should be using the 0.9.x versions of wine. Developers: why are these versions of wine even still in portage? Surely they're redundent and should be removed to make sure everyone's using the latest version. You shouldn't use this version at all. @vapier - While at it, how about some cleanup of the stale cruft? :) people request this old crap they're all marked -* which means they arent supported Sorry, I thought 2005 looked old, but it is what "emerge app-emulation/wine" was giving me as "the latest and greatest". I have submitted a bug report with SabayonLinux, asking them to update the portage files to include this and ship a more receint version of wine. Is there a good way to tell if there are other obsolete packages that should be added to the mask file? Bill (In reply to comment #2) > That's a _really_ old version of wine.
