Hello, I just noticed that my /usr/share/doc -directory has lot's of duplicates of the same programs but with different version. Versions that i have updated from but are not available on my computer anymore. -- qpkg -i vim-core app-editors/vim-core-6.1-r4 * app-editors/vim-core-6.1 app-editors/vim-core-6.1-r1 app-editors/vim-core-6.1-r2 app-editors/vim-core-6.1-r3 ls /usr/share/doc/vim-core* /usr/share/doc/vim-core-6.1-r2: README.txt.gz vim-core-6.1@ /usr/share/doc/vim-core-6.1-r3: vim-core-6.1@ /usr/share/doc/vim-core-6.1-r4: README.txt.gz vim-core-6.1@ -- There are many other examples. Regards, Väinö Järvelä qpkg -v -nc --dups if that gives you dups of vim-core, then please unmerge the older versions of vim-core.. Nope, i don't have duplicates of vim-core. And that is the case. vim-core was just an example.. there are lot's of "dupe" directories in there (wine, winex, utillinux, texinfo.......). i think this may be side effect with portage not removing symlinks properly, at least I noticed this since using portage-2.0.46-r12. i posted a bug and a patch in #15403 for portage. Although I'm not sure what makes the README.txt.gz left behind, so I could be wrong. #15403 is fixed in cvs. out shortly |
