Kernel version 2.6.17 running on ASUS M2NPV-VM motherboard hangs after message "io scheduler cfq registered" is printed.  This hang does not occur on older versions of the 2.6 kernel.
Reproducable: ALWAYS when using 2.6.17 on an ASUS M2NPV-VM mobo.

I found the bug upstream at bugzilla.kernel.org.  There I found that running the kernel with noapic does work.
