I have no access to that page and never have.  As far as I know, Daniel was the only person to access it.  Reassinging to him.

Yes, it looks like someone grabbed it and is keeping it marginally out of/up to date. I recommend that releng create an official freshmeat account, at which point releng can request ownership of this project again. But you need to create an account first. The process is actually quite easy and should be pain-free with a @gentoo.org email. Assigning to releng.

Looks like it was agreed on pr taking care (see bug #105446), but

I attempted to recover the password of [e-mail] but it said the email address was not registered, despite it being listed at http://freshmeat.net/~gentoo/ -- ideas?

try registering maybe http://freshmeat.net/register/

I received access to the account and updated it for the Gentoo 10.0 live DVD release plus added a screenshot;
