D [31/Aug/2006:17:00:34 +0200] [Job 77] /usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden seems like you did not restart cups when updating to 1.2.2 Please update all the versions again to ~arch and restart cups before printing of course. The old path should not be used with 1.2 OK, I updated everything to newest version (~x86), did etc-update and -- of course -- restarted cups. Now it works. The problem was that I did not know to install pnm2ppa for HP printers and read somewhere in the forum that newer cups verions don't work with HP. Thus I downgraded cups. But then this one here is a bug. Downgrading cups should also downgrade foomatic-db-engine foomatic-filters foomatic This is what happened to me :( Steps to reproduce (for ~x86): emerge cups echo ">net-print/cups-1.1.23-r8" >> /etc/portage/package.mask emerge cups well, if you have read the cups-1.2 postinstallation notes, you should also be able to know hat you need to rebuild foomatic/drivers for a downgrade, too. On the other hand, you should not be downgrading but file a bug for the problem with the current version ;) If you think I should fix anything, please tell me what and where. |
