Bug 145544 – NXAGENT: possible problem with connecting to nxserver-freenx

I have been unable to connect from NX Client for Windows to a fresh install
of nxserver-freenx.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled all packages for the server and I have attempted connect from two different clients with the same results.

The problems shows in the logs as:

NX> 105 /usr/NX/bin/nxserver: line 1077:   714 Terminated              sleep $AGENT_STARTUP_TIMEOUT
NX> 596 Session startup failed.
NX> 1004 Error: NX Agent exited with exit status 1.



In trying to troubleshoot the problem, I tried running nxagent from the
command line and I got the following:

rain bin # ./nxagent
./nxagent: error while loading shared libraries: libXcompext.so.1: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory


It appeared to me that nxagent could not find it's libraires.  I looked in
/etc/ld.so.conf and noticed that there was no pointer to /usr/NX/lib so I
added a path to it.

I edited /etc/env.d/50nxpaths
and added
LDPATH=/usr/NX/lib

I ran env-udpate and the path showed in /etc/ld.so.conf.

now the error is:
rain ~ # nxagent
nxagent: symbol lookup error: /usr/NX/lib/libXcompext.so.1: undefined symbol:
_NXContinueOnDisplayError

I dont know if I am on the correct path or not.  From my googling the problem,
it appears that I am not the only one having this problem.

Any help would be appreciated.
