i am using perl-5.8.0-r9 and emerged it with "USE=threads" and now i cant emerge
xchat , i tried this in the past and got the same error 

this is the error

please try without threading in perl, and then report.

i filed this bugzilla thinking u guys can have xchat work  using perl with threads and without , i reemerged perl and xchat is okay now :) thank  u though 
u can close this if u want

as the perl ebuild says, you enable threading at your own risk -- it's unsupported.
