Nvidia recently released version 87.74 of its drivers for Linux, which they support xorg 7.1 (see http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_1.0-8774.html). However, the ebuild for 87.74 is blocking >=xorg-server-1.0.99.
