At least parts of boinc_gui are incorrect due to changes in the way new users are regged and accounts managed. There is already a boinc 5.5.16.

You should keep in mind that the official (i.e. stable) BOINC client for Linux is still 5.4.9 (see http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php)

And version 5.5.6 is perfectly capable of using the rather new AMS (Account Management System), for example with http://bam.boincstats.com/. Can be found under Tools --> Account Manager, IIRC...

If you didn't mean the AMS you should perhaps specify more exactly what your problem is.

I am still here, just very busy. This package takes quite a lot of time to bump and I haven't had chance yet. If any of the sci herd wish to help please feel free. I am away for a week and so will not get to it for that time. The current version should be functional - it would be nice if upstream would do proper source releases...

I always welcome help in maintaining bigger applications like this ;)

I have to use 5.2.14 here to get wcg working - if i can help you, just say it, and i will se what i can do. Generally speaking, any version later than 5.5.6 should have the bug with ssl connections fixed, so you would only need to bump it to 5.5.7 or so. Anyways thanks for the ebuild...

After having learnt a little more about boinc I have put the latest stable version as tagged in upstream CVS into portage - 5.4.11, and masked 5.5.6. I was going to add 5.7.2 but it doesn't even compile here. As they are betas (I didn't realise before) then they will remain masked until upstream mark them stable - but I will wait until there is a version that builds correctly first!

Closing this now as the current stable should have all functions required for projects - otherwise upstream need to find a new stable candidate. I hope this works OK for you guys - I have limited time to maintain boinc right now due to thesis pressures.
