just enabling it would cause any major shortcoming?

Hm dont know - i did an ebuild for myself which enables adlib support because i want to use DOS & Sound so its required.

I wonder why it is disabled like alsa in the ebuilds - dont know, alsa is working fine for me here - i guess adlib will do the same.

Pushed adlib and gus to the live ebuild:
