More tests show that I only need typing Shift key over kinput2 to freeze gedit. I can confirm this with gedit-2.14.3 and gedit-2.14.4. It happens regardless of whether or not gedit is compiled with the "python" and "spell" flags.
Also, it only locks up when "(", ")", "{", and "}" is typed into the main editing area. It doesn't lock up if any of those characters are typed into the "Find", "Save", or "Open" dialog boxes.

(In reply to comment #2) > <=app-editors/gedit-2.12.1 is not affected. I have enjoyed it until 15 Nov 2006 when gedit-2.12.* is outdated in the portage-tree. Thank you. Now, do I have to test gedit-2.16.*, yet these are ~x86 ? (In reply to comment #3) > Now, do I have to test gedit-2.16.*, yet these are ~x86 ? Please, try w/ >=gedit-2.16.2-r1 Please try with newer versions of gedit (2.18.2 as of today). Don't hesitate to reopen if it happens again. |
