Bug 142990 – Skype 1.3.0.30-r1 Logging in failure

Starting skype-1.3.0.30-r1 for the first time, creating a new user and trying to login always ends in "Logging in failed".

I have tried to start /etc/init.d/dbus manually and also tried deleting ~/.Skype/* but it made no difference.

OK, this seems to be a Skype bug:

http://forum.skype.com/viewtopic.php?p=283832#283832

So, I guess we'll have to wait for Skype to sort it out, or hopefully for VoipBuster to be built for Linux (they have free telephone calls to many destinations!).

I propose that this bug is therefore closed as Skype seem to know about it. (Please reopen it if you think this is not a valid resolution).
