Thank you for your report.

I think that it is a cause that ppc64 is included in your USE flag.
If you use 32bit-userland, ppc64 is unnecessary in the USE flag. 

Please remove ppc64 USE flag from your make.conf.
And, would you retry `emerge mac-disk` and tell me result ?

I think that it is a problem of PPC64. 
So I reassign to PPC64 team...

Please comment if I'm wrong.

Yes, it is a ppc64 issue.  But there is already a bug open for this, which is why I marked it duplicate. Make sure you take care of the other bug as well please! :)
