Why do you say that? AFAICS it only needs libXpm which is part of xfree. Maybe I'm mixing the two? qpkg -f /usr/X11R6/lib/libXpm.so.4 shows : media-libs/xpm * x11-base/xfree * then emerge -C xpm (version 3.4k-1) and libXpm.so.4* is gone, lyx is broken. Maybe a problem with portage ?!? Why does both packages provide the same file ? Indeed, this shouldn't be so. A search finds bug #1446, but for some reason the xpm wasn't removed or fixed or at least masked. I've reopened that bug with appropriate comments. |
