hmm... thats strange, did you use a KERNEL_EXCLUDE variable at all?  cuz I use
this as a module.  Please send me a .config for the failing compile, if it is a
problem I'll be able to fix it in no time.

please try this in either gentoo-sources-2.4.20-r2/r3
