alsa is compiled with:
ALSA_CARDS='emu10k1 intel8x0'

but I only load emu10k1-driver now.


After updating alsa-driver to 1.0.12_rc1-r1 yesterday I get this message in dmesg.

Every started program which uses sound hangs unkillable.
Downgrading to alsa-driver-1.0.11 returns normal state.

sadly it crashes also with alsa-driver-1.0.12

alsa-drivers-1.0.12 does not crash with kernel 2.6.17-gentoo-r7

It also works with vanilla-sources-2.6.17.11.
Summary: Only failing Kernel was gentoo-sources-2.6.17-r1

Changed subject for it.

It works with stable ebuilds of vanilla-sources (2.6.17.6) and gentoo-sources (2.6.17-r7).
Thus closed.
