The actual error would be nice. I use the same minimal-install-cd, portage version and stage3-i686

It looks like this happens when the /etc/make.profile symlink is pointing to a non-existant profile. For some reason, it's pointing to the old location of the new 2006.1 profile. I'm rebuilding the i686 stage 2/3 now with the proper link. The stage2-i686 is rebuilt and uploaded. stage3-i686 is uploading now. The new one should be up in ~30 minutes. alright, it's now working but there is this alert:
livecd / # emerge -Duav world
!!! Your current profile is deprecated and not supported anymore.
!!! Please upgrade to the following profile if possible:
defult-linux/x86/2006.0
this might be because 2006.1 is not released yet, so I post it here to be shure :-)
Yes, that will be removed when 2006.1 is released. It's there to attempt to keep curious people from playing with it before it's ready :) Fixed in latest stage2/3-i686 tarballs |
