Citrix offers downloads of the icaclient in both
.rpm and .tar.gz formats. The ebuild (currently
looking at version 9.0) expects the user to
download the .rpm version which requires the
app-arch/rpm (and thus dev-libs/elfutils) package.
Using the .tar.gz version would eliminate those
two requirements.

At the very least, the ebuild could use the
rpm2targz package (much smaller and simpler),
rather than require a full blown install of rpm.

*sigh*

The tarball isn't versioned, so that will never change unless upstream changes it.  As for switching it to not use RPM, that is the eventual goal.
