Bug 141379 – totem receives X window error and crashes

At first, totem refused to play DVD, complaining about not having the correct plugins to handle it.  So I set some new USE flags and re-emerged totem.  When I started the new Totem,I got the following error

(totem:9902): GnomeUI-WARNING **: While connecting to session manager:
Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed.
The program 'totem' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
