Description John Russell 2006-07-18 20:02:11 UTC
Whenever any application tries to use libnss_wins to resolve a wins hostname using samba-3.0.23 it segfaults. To reproduce this, add the "wins" keyword to the end of the hosts line in nsswitch.conf. Then ping a wins address. This can also crash firefox and most other apps that use libnss_wins. This Ubuntu thread has a patch which fixes this: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/39990

samba-3.0.23-r3 works in this respect.
