Bug 140890 – gnupg-1.9.20-r3 - symmetrical encryption/decryption does not work with gpg-agent

When trying to encrypt a file with symmetric encryption the following happens:
(this works on other distributions)

gentoo ~ # gpg --symmetric DATA
gpg-agent[18920]: command get_passphrase failed: Operation cancelled
gpg: cancelled by user
gpg: error creating passphrase: invalid passphrase
gpg: symmetric encryption of `DATA' failed: invalid passphrase

please test with gnupg-1.4.5 and gnupg-1.9.22 (you need both of them) and report back. REOPEN if it still occurs.
