Description Ali Polatel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-16 14:22:22 UTC
I have blackdown-jre on my system set as System VM and it's built with nsplugin
use flag.java-check-environment says the environment is sane.
Yet when I try to emerge mozilla-firefox with java use flag enabled it tries
to emerge sun-jre.
I assume this might have something to do with the new handling of java, I'm
not sure though.
   Below are some details :

java-config -L :
*) Blackdown JRE 1.4.2.03 [blackdown-jre-1.4.2] (/usr/share/java-config-2/vm/blackdown-jre-1.4.2)

emerge -av mozilla-firefox :
...
[ebuild N F ] dev-java/sun-jre-bin-1.5.0.07 USE="X alsa -nsplugin" 16,455 kB
[ebuild N ] virtual/jre-1.5.0 0 kB
[ebuild N ] www-client/mozilla-firefox-1.5.0.4 USE="java -debug -gnome -ipv6 -mozdevelop -xinerama -xprint"

- not a Gentoo bugzilla product bug
- certainly not a blocker

If you don't want Java 1.5, package.mask it. Pretty normal behaviour w/ slots, not a bug.
