Thank you very very much for this bug report. I have been on a crusade to de-bloat various things, and my biggest complaint with galeon was that it pulled in most of GNOME. I do use galeon, but I ignored gnome-core and control-center and what-not. Anyway, it turns out that you do not need gnome-core at all. And, since control-center was being pulled in by gnome-core, you ran into the issue that you did. So, you may safely unmerge gnome-core and control-center, and remove "gnome" from your USE flag. Then, remerge libglade, gdk-pixbuf, and galeon, and all should be fine. Please let me know. I did as you just asked. However, when I try and emerge gdkpixbuf and galeon, I get: Calculating dependencies ...done! [ebuild R ] media-libs/gdk-pixbuf-0.16.0-r5 to / [ebuild N ] gnome-base/gnome-core-1.4.0.6-r4 to / [ebuild N ] gnome-base/bonobo-1.0.19-r1 to / [ebuild U ] net-www/galeon-1.2.0-r1 to / So it still wants to pull in gnome-core, but at least it doesn't try to pull in control-center anymore. So. I toss gnome-libs. I look in galeon-1.2.0-r1's build dependencies: >=gnome-base/gnome-core-1.4.0.4-r1 >=gnome-base/gnome-vfs-1.0.2-r1 OOps. My bad. Didn't wait long enough for the rsync. Thanks! Will let you know re: success/failure. it works just peachy. Thanks! |
