Description Martin 2006-07-11 02:25:07 UTC
When the openssh package is installed, it's not possible to install the ssh-package, because it's blocked.

However if the ssh-package is installed, openssh doesn't care about it and just installs its own binaries.

The openssh ebuild should check if there is already another ssh client installed.

Well, I just don't get what the purpose of openssh flag in net-misc/ssh...
Comment 2 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2006-07-14 21:59:26 UTC
maybe you should try reading the USE flag description

$ quse -D openssh
 local:openssh:net-misc/ssh: Allow ssh and openssh to be installed side by side
Comment 3 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2006-07-14 22:00:06 UTC

Well, I did, but why would one want both installed at the same time... hmmmm. :) Anyway, Humpback has already sent last rites to -dev, so I'd say no action left for base-system here. Thanks.
