Description Andreas Bögehold 2006-07-05 15:54:46 UTC
Hi,
after migrating to stable modular X7.0 the multimedia keys on my logitech internet explorer keyboard stopped working. I found out it's actually 2 bugs really, but they are closely related.
I already fixed this for myself, but i guess someone should fix it for everyone else. So:

kxkb:
The keymap that kxkb selects for this keyboard is called logiink, but in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/inet and /usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/xorg it is called logicink. Fixed this by adding logiink to ../symbols/inet and just including the definition for logicink and adding the entry to ../rules/xorg.

kmilo and others:
In /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/inet some entries, e.g. XF86AudioRaiseVolume, are assigned to two keycodes (in logitech_base). It seems that kde's shortcut system cannot handle this, so it does not catch when those buttons are pressed. Fixed this just by uncommenting the according entry, which did not match the keycode xev provided.

Andreas

Not a KDE bug.
