Description Joshua Kinard gentoo-dev 2006-07-02 21:49:47 UTC
It is common when using raw directory listings to place a README file so users browsing have an idea what to do or what the purpose of the directory is. Ever since the move to woodpecker, however, the apache setup there masks README files from appearing in the directory listing, despite them being present.

This doesn't affect files named 'readme', only the uppercase variants.

The referenced URL has a symlink from 'readme' to 'README', but notice in the listing that README is not present, yet if a direct URL is typed to it, it'll appear.

Also, any chance the column width for directory listings can be increased?

too bad that doesnt work ;)

besides, even if it did work, that's a workaround, not a fix ...
Comment 7 Jason Wever (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-08-26 20:00:53 UTC
I noticed that it has to be a .html file as opposed to just something like README for it to work.
Comment 8 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2006-08-27 00:09:00 UTC
looks like IndexIgnore setting ... the default includes 'README*'

plz2fix
