Description Randy Barlow 2006-06-30 11:34:54 UTC
When I run this emerge command, I get "!!! Couldn't download font-bh-type1-1.0.0.tar.bz2. Aborting." right after it downloads said file! I can verify that the file is in /usr/portage/distfiles/ just fine, and I can install other packages just fine. Not sure what the problem is, but I wanted to file a bug report. Thanks!

I'm still having a problem with this package. I enter 'emerge --oneshot font-bh-type1 and it tries to install encodings and font-bh-type1. It fails on encodings with: '!!! Couldn't download encodings-1.0.0.tar.bz2. Aborting.' It did download encodings. Also, I can't start my X server because it complains it cannot init any font path elements and thus cannot open default font 'fixed.' Is this related. Sorry for munging all this in this closed bug, but I am using Lynx and it is hard for me to search for other bugs.

encodings should also be fixed now. Try a new sync.

You definitely won't be able to start X until you get a properly installed font-misc-misc and font-cursor-misc.
