Despite burning it with 3 diferent computers and using 9 diferent cd's. Each time the burning has failed with a similar error "general error" or "generic error"

Is it always failing on the same machine?  Any chance you can give us the exact error message and possibly a couple lines of context?  We really cannot do anything with the information provided.  Also, try using md5sum to verify the checksum of the ISO you're downloading.

The ISO works perfectly for me and I've downloaded it from a couple mirrors, just to be sure.
