I've just emerge nagios-2.4 and found that tha availability script is really really slow. If I re-emerge 2.3 its a quick as a flash again.

opened in error. avail.cgi is quicker if you use shorter logrotation ;-)

changed logrotation to be hours rather than days and all ok :-)
