Errors inserting modules: ipt_ipp2p (/lib/modules/2.6.16-gentoo-r9/ipp2p/ipt_ipp2p.ko) : Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg) : 1 Time(s) ipt_ipp2p: disagrees about version of symbol xt_register_match ipt_ipp2p: Unknown symbol xt_register_match ipt_ipp2p: disagrees about version of symbol xt_unregister_match ipt_ipp2p: Unknown symbol xt_unregister_match this is what i see in dmesg log i forgot to report version net-firewall/ipp2p-0.8.0 Have you recompiled it against your currently running kernel (i.e., 2.6.16-r9 presumably) and rebooted the system? (In reply to comment #4) > Have you recompiled it against your currently running kernel (i.e., 2.6.16-r9 > presumably) and rebooted the system? > problem was that i missed iptables in the module-rebuild database and only rebuilded ipp2p with gave this problem, so in order for install reboot rebuild iptables rebuild ipp2p reboot and it worked here sorry i did not think about this was the problem before, but now i know it was can i just mark bug as closed ? Closing. Note that you can use sys-kernel/module-rebuild to automate this process after upgrading your kernel. |
