Emerging sys-process/cronbase (as a dependency of vixie-cron) I obtain this:

so run `groupadd cron -g 16` and see if it works

Mmmh, ok I found the problem. Removing pam-login and upgrading shadow broke something, in fact useradd and groupadd doesn't work. I'll try to reinstall shadow. I think that this bug can be closed.
