Bug 135831 – Xorg 7.1 and sis driver problem

After an "emerge world" I got this one when I try to start the X server:

Which does NOT show up at the log. The symptom of this is a black screen, all ttys gone and no response from mouse or keyboard. I can ssh to the machine. I've tried to re-emerge everything, but nothing works. I'm using gcc-4.1.1.
