I remember quite a number of cases, when such a feature would have been useful in the past. Both for Gentoo internal package reorganisation and when upstream renames their product. In this case it would be also nice, if the merge could be done over a transitional period, by aliasing one package with/to (sp?) the other temporarily (Having two packages, but treating it as a single logical one). |
